Sold and serviced by Aero Innovation inc., the HAWKER PILOT TRAINER (HPT) is a low-cost, certified generic advanced Flight Training Device (FTD Level 2). Its design is based entirely on proven tranfer of training principles which will result in positive transfer to pilot performance in flight. The purpose of the HPT is to educate pilots in the basic principles underlying safe flight, while teaching the specific knowledge, skills, and doctrine that define the professional pilot.
The HAWKER PILOT TRAINER (HPT) will simulate various types of aircraft at the touch of a button. In fact, an unlimited number of aircraft can be simulated in the HPT. The device comes standard with 8 aircraft ranging from:
Don't be fooled: the HPT comes standard with all the above generic
airplane types so an operator can sell training time to different trainees
using different types of airplane. With only one box!
Each time you change from one airplane model to another, the whole
instrument panel changes along with performances and controls, in only 3
minutes!!! In the HPT, the instruments and controls are located where they
are found in the real airplane, not just where it was convenient for the
simulation engineers to install them.
The HPT offers all those traditional procedural exercises expected from conventional Flight Training Devices such as the Frasca 142, 242 and 242T (all in the same box!), and more:
The HPT presents visual guidance and fight-path prediction to induce
correct responses from the student without intervention from the instructor
(figure below).

The automatic adaptive visual guidance and flight-path prediction are withdrawn when the student makes the proper control responses and reappear when performance exceeds limits that indicate help is still needed. The HPT thus combine cognitive and psychomotor learning in the same device.
The real-time effects of controls can be shown graphically by means of
dynamic force vertors emanating from an aircraft symbol depicted on the
outside-view monitors (like the figure below), right before the trainee's
eyes! This enables the simultaneous display of real-time information regarding
both the theoretical and "real-world" effects of controls, in
any sequence of in-flight action.

The trainee sees and reacts to live effects of the wing flaps, landing gear, power loss, flight controls on his/her real airplane model, in-flight! This feature, designed by flight instructors for flight instructors is simple fantastic! Ask those who tried it!
